Sidney Poland was a very generous benefactor to Brockham, and endowed a charitable trust which has built 9 independent units of accommodation for the elderly, on the site of his former rsidence in Kiln Lane, Brockham.

Two further units have been added in 2008 in conjunction with the Betchworth United Charities, and all these units are available to qualifying residents of the Parishes of Brockham, Betchworth, Leigh and Buckland.
